Another prep hike today. It rained all night and the forecast was more of the same so good to practise and I like walking in the rain anyway. Decided on a combo of Spotted Gum trail, JC Slaughter and the Hoop Pine track. Adding in the distance from home around about 16km round trip with good elevation.

Came home soaked. Can’t decide if jacket was worth it. It keeps the wind out but is sticky and hot when walking and becomes permeable after a while. Definitely warmer with it on but a fleece probably would have done the same. On the plus side feet stayed dry and the toe socks remain a revelation.

Less sore and less tired this afternoon. Hopefully at some point the anxiety about being unable to do this stops waking me up at 4am.
